Pianist, composer, and multimedia artist, Luca Longobardi represents a generation of classically trained musicians who incorporate the language of contemporary electronic music and multimedia into their works. Born in 1976, he studied music in Italy and New York, and in 2011 earned a PhD in Digital Audio Restoration at La Sapienza University in Rome. He composes music for ballet, theatre, television, and film. Many of his productions are strongly connected to experimental installations and immersive shows (Atelier de Lumières – Paris, Carrières des Lumières – Les Baux-de-Provence, Kunstkraftwerk – Leipzig). He is the author, composer, and music director of Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit, the immersive show that has sold more than 5 million tickets in North America, bringing immersive art into the global spotlight.
